CDs have been around since the 1980s. They can contain music or up to 700mb of computer data. Quantities from 100 units to 1,000,000 units, with a wide range of packaging options. Despite the huge rise in download, CDs are still very much in use.
DVD and DVDR
DVDs are used almost exclusively for movies, although they can contain up to 4.7gb of computer data. They have been the main way of distributing movies for many years, and continue to be used in large quantities.
BLU-RAY
For High Definition movies. When your movie needs that extra quality, high-definition picture, you need Blu-Ray. These discs can also be used to contain up to 50gb of data.
USB Memory Sticks
As prices fall, USB memory sticks and flash memory are increasingly being used to distribute corporate presentations, catalogues, etc. They're re-useable, which provides added value, and increases the likelihood of the target audience using the product.
Legacy Media
Vinyl records, audio cassette, VHS, Compact VHS, Digital 8, Betamax, Mini-DV, DVCam, DVCPro, 3/4, Betacam, and lots of other legacy formats. Replication or transfer to digital.
